There is a reason for everything

Sometimes I just hate the way other people think. Some people just plain lack the ability to comprehend. I get so frustrated by the mentality of people that sometimes I wish that I had the ability to make everyone think like me...Sounds pretty selfish and arrogant right? It may, but sometimes that's just how I feel. It's not that I think that I'm smarter than everyone or that I have the perfect mindset, but at bare minimum I can assess and comprehend things dammit! There are far too many flaws with the minds of others for me to even begin to explain, so I'll just start with one that bothers me most:

Person A: "I don't like cheese"

Person B: "Why?"

Person A: "I just don't like cheese."

What's wrong with this example? Person A states that they "just don't like cheese" yet that doesn't answer B's question at all. Person B asked WHY A doesn't like cheese--not "do you like cheese, Person A?". I'm sick of people using that as a reason when it holds no validity at all--there absolutely MUST be a reason WHY behind EVERY opinion one holds; I know this to be true. If Person A doesn't like cheese it may be because of the taste, the smell, anything but there IS a reason or else no opinion would be formed in the first place. There is reason behind everything in this world---those who lack the level of understanding to acknowledge that are the people who piss me off the most.

Why do people cheat?

If you fall in love with someone else while you're in a relationship with someone why don't people just break up with the person and go out with the new person? To me, cheating is a lot worse than ending it with the first person and getting with the new person. Sure either path will lead to someone getting hurt, and it's not so easy to end a relationship after being with someone for a while, but cheating seems like the more painful road. If the love just isn't there anymore, save yourself and your partner the trouble and just move on.

Maturity

Something I've noticed throughout my time being a High School student is this: the girls in high school are completely shallow when it comes to picking boyfriends. They turn the blind eye to anyone who doesn't meet their appearance standards. I hear about breakup after breakup on a weekly basis and its usually from girls who I used to like (those are the most entertaining stories personally). I think that if the girl got to know the guy before she asked him out, a lot of trouble could have been avoided. From what I have learned, girls go through a transition where they gradually start opening their eyes to what is a truly good guy; I've observed couples in college and compared them to those of high school and you can visually see the difference. The type of guys who i see with girls in college are much more diverse. Every girl who has turned me down has had to hear this rant because I feel that I am helping them by holding a mirror to their face to show them just how flawed their judgment is. My wish is that some guy later in their lives will indirectly thank me.

Football = Legend of Zelda?

Another thing that bothers me: commonly people have this misconception (most likely created by the media) that Video Games and Sports are two completely different things. Let's compare them shall we?

Video Games:
  • You use a controller or other similar device
  • There is a main objective in order to win
  • It's a game.
Sports:
  • You use a racket/cleats/balls/whatever
  • There is a main objective in order to win
  • ...It's a game
So as you can see, the only difference between a game of basketball and pokemon--is the method in which they are played. So stop calling someone a nerd because they like to kill zombies on Resident Evil---I laugh at people who do that; especially the ones who turn around and go watch people kicking a ball around a field of grass for entertainment.

Tell me what I'm thinking

You know what really pisses me off? When someone tries to tell me what I think. Like seriously how are you going to tell me what I think when it's my mind. The most common occurrence is when I get into an argument with someone who is clearly below me intellectually and they say "you think you're smarter than everyone!!"...Man that really sets me off. I have never in my life proclaimed to be "smarter than everyone" nor do I even think that. I've had to say just that many times.

Back of the bus

You know what really pisses me off? When people on the bus take the time to push past everyone just to get to the back when there's no seats or anything back there. Seriously all they do is move from point A to point B with no benefit to anyone---just annoyed people like me who got pushed past!

Homework

Homework. Why was it made?! Here is my analysis of why it's evil:

We are only awake for about 16 hours tops out of a single 24 hour day---of those 16 hours, we spend a whopping 8 in school! Subtract around 2 hours of leeway, and that leaves us with only around 6 hours of "free time"... But that's where homework comes into play! As if it wasn't enough to be in school for the vast majority of the day, we have to go home and waste what little time we have doing MORE school work! When I go home I want to be home; not indirectly still in school! Honestly most people who are doing bad in a class are only in that situation because of homework---no one likes it, so why is it still here?! If homework were to just suddenly be abolished, kids would get more rest, more kids who need to support their family would have an easier time with the job thing, and best of all, improved grades. The cons to getting rid of homework are far to small and unimportant to even mention so---I won't.

Gingivitis

Anyone besides me ever wonder why on every commercial, ad, and label they always say: "The Gum Disease Gingivitis"... I mean come on is the 'the gum disease' part really necessary? Don't you think we know from the past 50 years of saying it that it's a gum disease?! They don't call cancer 'The Cell Destruction Disease Cancer'---So why do they insist on reminding us that Gingivitis is a gum disease?! Just call it Gingivitis!!

Easy way to kill spidey--yet it was overlooked

Most of the villains who have gone against Spiderman have stood no chance strength-wise... Well I was sitting and thinking and it occurred to me: all a villain needs to do is get bitten by the same radioactive spider that bit Peter and, theoretically, they should be granted the same powers as him! After the spider bit Peter it's not like it died or anything---and there were like 3 others so why don't they just go to that lab and get bit? And the scientists who created the spiders---shouldn't they have known that that's how Spiderman got his powers? Come on Marvel, I love you to death but make more solid stories!

The magic of potato chips

I've noticed something very peculiar since moving to a big city from North Carolina: when kids here eat potato chips, they seem to go into this strange trance where they just mindlessly stare off into space and eat...it's really weird...Not that there's anything wrong with that; sometimes I catch myself doing it too---but it's still very odd

Coincidence?

Today at lunch I was sitting eating fruitsnacks in my strange color-by-color fashion when i noticed that there was one brighter colored one left in the bag. So I ate it. I dumped the remaining fruitsnacks out into my hand and noticed the strangest thing: there were 5 left; 2 red, 3 blue! This instantly made me think of the election that Barrack Obama just won (yay) and how he had won more states (his were blue) than John McCain (whose states were red)...So yeah I thought that was kind of funny... Oh and, both of the red fruitsnacks happened to be monkeys and that made me think of George Bush xD

"The first time I say no, it's like I never said yes"

I hate how you can do something right a million times but the first time you do it wrong then everyone gets mad at you. I don't get that about people. How does 1 screw-up outweigh a million successes?...

Political Nonsense

I don't understand why people bother to vote; even if Obama gets a landslide win from people voting, the electoral college can over-rule that and put McCain in office anyway... It's B.S...
